According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Friday, June 14, 2024, Mohammad Gorgij, a 31-year-old resident of Shirabad, Zahedan, who was arrested by military forces on Wednesday, June 12, and transferred to the Anti-Narcotics Detention Center, died under torture.

Mohammad was arrested on his way back to his father’s house, and his family was unaware of his whereabouts. After three days, the Anti-Narcotics Department contacted his father and informed him that Mohammad had died in detention. Without providing any explanation or showing the body, they asked his father to come on Sunday to collect the body. Mohammad’s family has filed a complaint against the officers, believing he was killed under torture. At the time of this report, no specific information is available about the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him.
