According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on May 11, 2024, Saman Malekzehi, a 28-year-old Baloch prisoner, was executed in Bam Prison on charges related to drug offenses. Saman had been arrested four years ago and sentenced to death. Bam security forces had previously demanded a weapon from his family in exchange for revoking the sentence, but despite the family’s compliance, the execution was carried out. In 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed in Iran.
