Detained Baloch Citizen Missing for Forty Days

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, a Baloch citizen named Umar Dorostaran, 25, from Chiraghan village, was detained by plainclothes security forces in Rask on the evening of April 8, 2024. Forty days later, there is still no information on his whereabouts or condition.

Umar, a student at a religious school in Pishin and former student of Molavi Abdolghafar Naqshbandi, was arrested without a judicial warrant. Despite his family’s efforts, authorities have provided no information on his detention, causing significant concern for his safety.

Additionally, on April 11, 2024, state media mistakenly reported his arrest for “laughing at military forces” after an attack by Jaish al-Adl, although umar had been detained three days prior
