On May 12, 2024, a Baloch citizen named Saeed Sohrabi, son of Kamal and a resident of the village of Ziri in Kahnuj County, was killed by intelligence forces’ gunfire. The following day, on the evening of May 13, 2024, military and security forces in Saravan opened fire without warning on a Peugeot Pars sedan carrying family members. In this incident, one person was killed, and two children and a woman were severely injured. Their identities have not yet been determined.
Additionally, on the same day in the border village of Kando in Hirmand County, two Baloch brothers, Mohammad and Gholam Sarani, were killed by border forces’ gunfire, and another brother, Nabi Sarani, along with a bystander, was injured. The reasons for these shootings are still unknown.
According to reports collected in 2023, direct shootings by military forces resulted in at least 120 Baloch citizens being killed or injured. Among these cases, 80 people lost their lives, and 40 were injured, including 9 children and 3 women.
