Balochistan Human Rights Group / On Monday March 18, 2024, Fariba Borhanzahi, a member of the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), told DW Persian outside of the UN Human Rights Council session hall where it was being held: “In 2023, at least 184 Baloch citizens were executed in various prisons in Iran. Although the Islamic Republic regime did not class these citizens under political titles and crimes, in reality, these executions were in retaliation against the Baloch people who came to the streets every week with protest rallies.”

It is worth noting that Javaid Rehman, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran, in his final report, described the situation of national and religious minorities, human rights activists, political, civil, labor activists and women in Iran as dire and critical.

Javid Rehnan xpressed concern about the execution of Baloch and Kurdish citizens on charges related to drugs and security, as well as the extrajudicial killing of Baloch fuel carriers and Kurdish kulaber’s by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
