According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group’s report on December 10, 2023, forces from the Housing and Urban Development Organization, accompanied by military personnel, stormed the Shashki neighborhood in Mehrestan and demolished residential houses under construction owned by Baloch citizens without prior warning.
As per this report, these were ancestral lands of the citizens, where approximately seventy years ago, the forefathers of the house owners migrated to this location when it was a small village and cultivated the area by digging water wells.
It is said that these citizens have been engaged in livestock farming and agriculture in this area for generations. However, the Housing and Urban Development Organization has labeled these lands as national territory
