The execution of at least three prisoners, including a Baloch prisoner, took place today, Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Zahedan Central Prison, Iran. These prisoners were convicted of murder and had previously been sentenced to death.

One of the condemned prisoners, a Baloch individual named “Mohammad Naroui,” 27 years old, son of Shah Mohammad, and a resident of the jaada Gadem area in Zahedan, was reported by the Balochistan Human Rights Group.

According to sources from the Balochistan Human Rights Group, “Mohammad” was arrested in 2020 on charges of murder and was sentenced to execution by the Zahedan Criminal Court. This morning, he, along with two other unidentified prisoners from Birjand, were transferred from the general ward of Zahedan Central Prison to solitary confinement for the execution of their sentences, which was carried out early today.

The other two unidentified prisoners were residents of Birjand in South Khorasan Province and were accused of murder. Both were arrested about seven years ago and were sentenced to execution in a joint case.

It’s worth noting that from April 29, 2023, to today, September 9, at least 87 Baloch prisoners, including four women, have been executed. From August 20, 2022, to yesterday, September 8, 2023, at least 188 Baloch citizens have been executed in various prisons across the country. These figures represent individuals with confirmed identities.

This constitutes a severe violation of human rights.
