Homes of Baloch Citizens Destroyed in Residential Area of Jihad District, Zahedan
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on August 7th, 2023, law enforcement forces along with the Housing Foundation, accompanied by municipal authorities of Zahedan, launched a raid in the residential area of Jihad District, resulting in the destruction of several homes belonging to Baloch citizens, utilizing equipment from within the houses.
It is reported that the military forces surrounded the area at 5 AM, employing a considerable number of troops, followed by using multiple loader vehicles to demolish the homes of the citizens. Residents were even denied the opportunity to remove essential belongings from their homes.
It is worth noting that in recent years, numerous reports and documents have highlighted the demolition of residential homes belonging to indigenous Baloch people, particularly in Chabahar, driven by political and security motives by government and military forces. These actions have led to significant challenges for the inhabitants and original owners of these areas.
