According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the morning of Thursday, August 10, 2023, officials at Mashhad prison executed two Baloch prisoners without informing them or allowing them a final visit with their families.

The identities of these two Baloch citizens are “Hamid Barahwi (Bariči),” 45 years old, son of Abdulaziz, married with five children, hailing from the village of Mārgān in the suburbs of Dūst Mohammad, center of Hīrmand, and “Ahmad Narawi,” 44 years old, son of Mohammad, married with two children, from the city of Zahedan and residing in Mashhad.

As per the report, Hamid and Ahmad were arrested in 2021 on drug-related charges in Mashhad and had been sentenced to execution by the revolutionary court of the city.

This news highlights a grave violation of human rights regarding the executions of Baloch people. Such incidents underscore the ongoing concerns about human rights violations in relation to executions within the Baloch community.
