According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, early this morning on Monday , 7th of August, 2023, the death sentence of at least one Baloch prisoner was carried out by authorities at Kerman Prison.
The identity of this Baloch prisoner has been reported as Abdulghaffar Shayeghi (Hashemzehi), a 38-year-old individual, son of Gholam Nabi, married with 2 children, from Nook Abad (Tafatan) in khash city.
As per the report, Abdulghaffar was arrested in 2021 on drug-related charges during a raid by Mahan inspectors in Kerman Province, and he was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
This citizen was transferred from the public ward to the quarantine section of the prison for execution on Saturday, 5th of August, and his father, wife, and sisters were able to have their last visit with him yesterday around 11 o’clock.
It is worth mentioning that received reports indicate that there have been several executions carried out today at Kerman Prison, including both Baloch and non-Baloch citizens, and the Rasank organization is working to verify their identities.
