UN Report: Dozens of Baloch Executed in Iran

According to the Baloch Human Rights Group, the latest report by the UN Secretary-General on the human rights situation in Iran shows that executions and repression of ethnic minorities, including the Baloch, continue.

The report, published on 16 October 2025, states that in 2024 at least 108 Baloch and 84 Kurdish individuals were executed in Iran. Together, these groups accounted for about 20 percent of all recorded executions that year. Between January and May 2025, another 72 Baloch and 31 Kurdish people were reportedly executed.

The United Nations said that members of ethnic and religious minorities — including Baloch, Kurds, Arabs, and Baháʼís — continue to face discrimination, arbitrary arrests, and widespread executions.

The report also notes that following the June 2025 military clashes between Iran and Israel, security pressure on minority groups intensified, with many individuals arrested on vague charges such as “collaboration with foreign states.”

The Baloch Human Rights Group stated that the findings highlight a persistent and alarming pattern of violations against the Baloch and other minorities in Iran, calling for urgent international action to address the situation.
