Harassment and Extortion of Baloch Fuel Carriers by Taliban Forces in the Nimruz Region of Balochistan

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, today, Saturday, November 8, 2025, Taliban forces under the command of a man named Hasibullah in the Nimruz region of Balochistan have harassed and mistreated Baloch fuel carriers. Many of these individuals have been barred from working in the area due to their inability to pay the bribes demanded by this commander.

In recent days, this regional commander has intensified his crackdowns on Baloch fuel carriers and citizens. Taliban forces have also prevented Baloch fuel carriers and porters from operating along the Nimruz borders. Sources from Rasank have reported that Mullah Hasibullah, one of the Taliban commanders, has been extorting large sums of money from fuel carriers and porters who are forced to undertake this hard and dangerous work to make a living.

According to these sources, Baloch fuel carriers purchase fuel from locals in the Zahak, Milak, and surrounding areas and, after passing through the gunfire of Iranian border guards, transport it toward the Nimruz border. However, Taliban forces on the other side of the border either seize their fuel and vehicles and sell them for their own benefit or extort money from them through threats and intimidation.

These actions have increased economic hardship and insecurity for Baloch fuel carriers, making life for border residents in these areas even more difficult. Such practices not only prevent Baloch people from earning a livelihood but also deepen poverty, despair, and the risk to their lives.
