According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the morning of Saturday, March 15, 2025, military forces raided the villages of Bapatan, Jamidar, Dimgan, and Aliabad in Sarbaz County with dozens of vehicles, violently arresting at least four Baloch citizens. These individuals were severely beaten by military and plainclothes forces before being taken to an undisclosed location. One of the detainees, Mujib Dehghani Bahar, was released after several hours of interrogation and threats.

Identities of the detainees have been confirmed:

  • Mohammad Mousa Sabouri, Abdullah Vatan Khah, and Mohammad Qasem (last name unknown), all approximately 18 years old and residents of Jamidar village.
  • Mujib Dehghani Bahar, 35 years old, a farmer from Bapatan village, who was released after several hours.

According to reports, security forces carried out forced searches and inspections in these villages, behaving in an insulting manner and spreading fear among the residents. Sources indicate that the three detainees from Jamidar were brutally beaten, to the extent that their faces were covered in blood, and they were unable to stand when being forced into military vehicles.

This raid took place just a night after Abdulhaq Gehramzehi, a 29-year-old resident of Bapatan, was also arrested with violence and without a judicial warrant. Security forces shot at his vehicle before detaining him and transferring him to an unknown location.

The violent arrest of Baloch citizens without a judicial warrant is a clear violation of both domestic and international laws. This action contradicts Article 32 of Iran’s Constitution, which states that arrests must only be carried out with a valid judicial order. Furthermore, Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which prohibit torture and inhumane treatment, have been violated in these arrests. The severe beating and transfer of detainees to undisclosed locations also breach Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which prohibits arbitrary detention. Additionally, the creation of fear and forced searches without a warrant violate Article 22 of the Iranian Constitution regarding individual security and Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights concerning privacy rights.
