According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, two Baloch citizens, who are brothers and were arrested nearly three years ago on charges of “murder” in two separate operations in Saravan and Chabahar by military forces, have been transferred to Zahedan Central Prison for execution following the issuance of their death sentence by the Chabahar Criminal Court. It is believed that their execution will take place after the end of Ramadan.
The identities of these two Baloch citizens have been reported as Javad Balideh, 20 years old, and Mansour Balideh, 25 years old, both sons of Nawab and residents of Dansar village in Qasr-e Qand County.
These two brothers were arrested by military forces in Saravan and Chabahar nearly three years ago and were transferred to Chabahar Prison. They have been imprisoned there ever since, and recently, a judge named Aramideh issued their death sentence. Based on this ruling, Mansour and Javad Balideh were transferred to Zahedan Central Prison on March 2, 2025, for the implementation of their sentence.
The relatives of these prisoners have criticized the judicial process, arguing that the judge in the case has close ties with the plaintiff and has failed to uphold justice, issuing the death sentence against the two brothers in violation of legal principles. Additionally, reports have surfaced claiming that the plaintiff in the case paid 300 million tomans to the judge, raising further doubts about the fairness and legitimacy of the ruling.
Such sentences are issued in a context where the judicial process in cases involving Baloch citizens has consistently been marked by ambiguities and a lack of transparency. The failure to observe fair trial principles and the issuance of harsh sentences without thorough review have raised serious concerns about the administration of justice.
According to the 2024 annual report of the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at least 111 Baloch prisoners were executed in various cities across Iran on different charges. Among these cases, Zahedan Prison had 27 executions, Birjand Prison had 13, and Yazd Prison had 14, making them the locations with the highest number of executions.
