According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the evening of Thursday, May 30, 2024, death row inmate “Adham Narouei” attempted suicide due to psychological pressure by ingesting pills and was transferred to Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Zahedan.

It is reported that Adham attempted suicide in Ward 9 (the solitary political ward) of Zahedan Central Prison after consuming several tranquilizers. The prison infirmary, assessing his critical condition, decided to transfer him to Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Zahedan.

Adham Narouei and Mohammad Zein al-Dini, accused of engaging in a confrontation with military officers and killing three of them, have repeatedly denied the charges in court. Nevertheless, they were sentenced to death, and their sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court.

Mohammad was arrested in October 2020 and Adham in June 2021 by IRGC intelligence officers. They were subjected to severe physical and psychological torture in detention, including electric shocks, severe beatings with cables and plastic pipes, as well as religious and ideological insults.
