According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Sunday , April 21, 2024, a Baloch prisoner lost his life due to lack of medical care and delay in being transferred to the hospital at Zahedan Social Security Hospital after two years, six months, and twenty-two days of imprisonment.

The identity of this Baloch prisoner, Haj Qader Gorgij, 52 years old, son of Shah Mohammad, married with eight children and one of the respected elders of the Gorgij tribe and a resident of Zahedan, has been mentioned.

According to the report, Mr. Qader was transferred from Ward Eight in critical condition to the prison infirmary and after a few hours was transferred to Zahedan Social Security Hospital where he passed away.

Qader Gorgij, due to underlying heart disease and hypertension, despite having a medical file and despite the efforts of his family and relatives to transfer him to a hospital outside the prison compound for treatment and proper medical care, the prison authorities had opposed this.

It is worth mentioning that the Intelligence Forces of the Revolutionary Guards IRGC had raided Qader’s house on October 2, 2021, without presenting a warrant, searched his house, and detained him.

The Intelligence Forces of the Revolutionary Guards claimed that they had detained Qader on drug-related charges, which he strongly denied during the interrogation stage at Branch 3 of the court.

It is worth mentioning that in the early morning of April 17, 2022, a Baloch prisoner sentenced to death, Ahmad Gorgij, son of Khodadad and a resident of Zahedan and one of the respected elders of the region, died after about five years of imprisonment due to lack of medical care and delay in being transferred to the hospital.
