On the seventh anniversary of Saeed Baloch’s forcible disappearance by Pakistan, marked today on April 15, 2024, there remains no information about his whereabouts. Saeed, also known as Sadiq Baloch, son of Hajji Salemi, a resident of Ahvaran in the district of Geh (Nikshahr), despite holding residency in Italy, was detained from his hotel in Karachi’s Saddar area by Pakistani intelligence forces (ISI) on April 16, 2017, during a leisure and medical trip.

Despite relentless efforts by Saeed’s family to pursue his case through the Balochistan and Sistan Governorates, the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad, they have faced indifference and lack of responsiveness from the relevant authorities.

Additionally, Saeed’s family has made numerous trips to Pakistan and approached the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Information, and the Iranian Embassy in that country, yet they have not received any information about his fate.

According to international laws regarding the pursuit and defense of abducted citizens by foreign countries, it is the duty of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government to act, which Iran has failed to do regarding Saeed Baloch.

Saeed’s family is deeply concerned about his fate and calls for the intervention of human rights organizations in advocating for his unknown fate.
