On Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Cologne, Germany, a conference titled Language Diversity: Challenges and Opportunities was held in honor of International Mother Language Day (February 21), as reported by the Balochistan Human Rights Group. Activists from various ethnicities residing within the geographical region of Iran participated in the event. Discussions not only addressed the injustices resulting from the monolingual nature of the educational system for non-Persian-speaking children in Iran but also proposed solutions for establishing a multilingual educational system within Iran’s borders. Ms. Farzaneh Baloch, representing the Baloch Women’s Organization (Barmesh)and Iraj Iranduost, representing the Balochistan Human Rights Group, were present at the session.
