According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, today, on Thursday, November 16, 2023, Deputy Commander Jalilian announced the deployment of ‘Storm Bulletproof Tactical Vehicles’ to ‘enhance security, ensure peace, and confront security threats’ in the Balochistan and Sistan provinces.

The deployment of armored vehicles in Balochistan occurs amidst extensive presence of Iranian security and military forces, particularly in cities like Zahedan, during the nationwide protests of 2022 and 2023.

These measures and the pressure exerted on the people of Balochistan happen as part of the Iranian government tactics, despite the recent intensification of the security environment in Balochistan, especially in Zahedan. Thousands of Baloch citizens, including children, have been detained and coerced into forced confessions. However, as repeatedly voiced by the Baloch people during recent protests, suppression, detention, imprisonment, execution, and the security environment will not divert them from seeking justice.
