Balochistan Human Rights Group: A Baloch family residing in the Nosrat Abad region of Zahedan, despite years of persistent pursuit and bearing the heavy financial burdens of commuting and other administrative expenses, is still waiting for the issuance of their identity documents.

In addition to their short stature and the lack of suitable employment, authorities have showed indifference towards providing them with identity documents and expediting this process, despite the family’s extensive efforts and numerous follow-ups. This process has compounded their hardships.

According to Balochistan human rights reports, the ancestors of this family are from the tribes of Nehbandan, Zabol, Nosrat Abad, and Zahedan. After the revolution, the family’s patriarch, Shirahmad Naroui, decided to settle in Nosrat Abad. Since the 1980s, he has been applying for the issuance of his family’s identity documents. However, the lack of resources and the officials’ apathy have resulted in the family remaining without identity documents. Even after several decades they have not received their documents despite the availability of DNA testing in some facilities in Zahedan.

This issue persists while the majority of their first-degree relatives are engaged in government jobs like teaching; therefore indicating their Baloch ethnicity. Due to their tribal background, they were not able to obtain identity documents before the 1980s.

It should be noted that the members of this family have completed all necessary legal procedures; however, the relevant authorities continue to fall short in providing them with identity documents.
