Balochistan Human Rights Group reported that on the morning of Monday July 31th 2023 officials at Zahedan Central Prison carried out the execution of at least four Baloch prisoners who were imprisoned on drug-related charges.

The identities of these Baluchi citizens are as follows:

  1. Saeed Barahui, known as Aref, 38 years old, son of Habibullah, married with three children, from Zahedan.
  2. Ali Barahui, known as Khan Mohammad, 39 years old, married with several children, from Zahedan.
  3. Khodarahm Mohammadi, known as Latif, 55 years old, son of Baharkhan, married with three children, from Zahedan.
  4. Shahsavar Shahriari (Pilangi), 53 years old, son of Shahal, married with five children, from Dehneh-Abbas Ali region in Rigān County.

According to the report, Saeed and Ali, who were paternal cousins, were arrested together in a joint case in 2021 in Zahedan and were sentenced to death by the revolutionary court of that city.

These two prisoners were transferred from Zahedan Prison to Zahedan Central Prison about a month ago, and they were executed without informing their families or allowing them a final visit.

Khodarahm was also arrested in Zahedan in 2019 and was sentenced to death after two years in a court hearing.

Furthermore, Shahsavar was arrested in Nusratabad in 2020 by military forces and was sentenced to death in Zahedan’s revolutionary court.
