According to Balochistan, human rights group On the morning of 26th July 2023, the authorities at Zahedan’s Prison carried out the execution sentence of a Baloch inmate, Masoud Shahbakhsh, son of Abdulaziz, who was married and had two children. He hailed from the Cheshme Ziarat area in Zahedan.
Earlier, there was a report stating that the execution of this Baloch inmate had been postponed for one month with the involvement of Molavi Abdulhamid, to obtain consent from the victim’s family. However, in the end, the family did not grant their approval, and the execution was carried out.
yesterday, Masoud’s family had visited the prison for the final meeting, and the officials had informed them that they had until the next day to gain the victim’s family’s consent. After much pursuit, they granted him a one-month reprieve, but in the morning, we were informed that Masoud had been executed.
It should be mentioned that from April 29, 2023, to 26 July 2023, at least 61 Baloch prisoners, including 4 women, have been executed in 14 prisons across the country
