Arrest of Three Baloch Citizens Following Security Forces Raid in Islamabad, Khash
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the evening of Tuesday, February 12, 2025, plainclothes intelligence and military forces raided the Islamabad neighborhood of Khash, opening fire before arresting three Baloch citizens in a residential home and taking them away.
The three detainees have been identified as Mahmoud Shahnavazi, 30 years old, son of Yarmohammad, married with two children; Mehrab Shahnavazi, son of Saleh Mohammad; and Jaber Shahnavazi, son of Aziz Mohammad, all residents of Islamabad, Khash.
No information is currently available regarding the charges against them or the reason for their arrest. In recent years, violent raids by security forces on Baloch citizens’ homes—often without judicial warrants—have increased. These operations, which involve gunfire and intimidation, have caused growing concern among the local population.
