Killing of a Baloch Fuel Carrier Following Chase and Shooting by Military Forces in Kahnuj County
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Tuesday, 7 Bahman 1404 (equivalent to January 27, 2026), a Baloch fuel carrier was killed after military forces chased his vehicle and shot at its tires inside the city of Kahnuj. The vehicle veered off course, collided with a truck (khawar), caught fire, and the driver burned to death inside the flames.
The identity of the deceased fuel carrier has been reported as Rasoul Mohammadali Zaboli (Bameri), 28 years old, son of Hassan, married, resident of Mozaffarabad, Rudbar-e Jonub.
According to received information, while Rasoul was driving his vehicle, he was targeted by military forces in Kahnuj County within the urban area. The forces directly shot at the vehicle’s tires, causing it to swerve. After colliding with a truck, the vehicle caught fire, and the driver, still alive, burned to death in front of people present at the scene.
It is noteworthy that, according to compiled reports from the beginning of 2024 until the end of that year, at least 479 fuel carriers (soukhtbar) were killed or injured in road accidents, shootings by military forces, attacks by unknown armed individuals, mine explosions, fires, and drownings. Among them, 253 were killed and 226 were injured.
