At least five Baloch workers, including two teenagers, killed and injured in shooting by Takavari Unit in Zehkalut, Delgan
According to a report by the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the morning of Wednesday, 18 December 2025 forces of the “Imam Javad” Takavari Unit of Zehkalut County, along with forces from the Pang village outpost in Jazmourian County, Kerman Province, entered Sistan and Balochistan Province during a pursuit and opened direct fire on a vehicle carrying Baloch workers in the village of Chahkichi, a district of Delgan County. As a result of the shooting, at least five Baloch citizens, all of whom were workers, were shot and injured. One of them died a few hours later.
The identity of the deceased has been confirmed as Amirhossein Shahdousti, 20 years old, son of Mohammad, from Chahkichi village in Delgan County. The identities of two of the injured have also been confirmed: Yousef Bamari Shabanzahi, 14 years old, son of Issa, from Gozhshan village in Delgan County, and Hafez Mohammad Mahmoudi, 18 years old, son of Dad Mohammad (Mirk), from Chahkichi village, Delgan. The identities of two other injured individuals were unknown at the time of this report.
According to sources from the Balochistan Human Rights Group, military forces were pursuing a Peugeot Pars vehicle from the Pang area toward Chahkichi village. After losing sight of the intended vehicle, they opened fire on another Peugeot Pars without issuing any prior stop order or warning. The occupants of this vehicle were Baloch workers who were traveling with their employer to their workplace.
Sources added that all five occupants of the vehicle were hit by bullets during the shooting. Amirhossein Shahdousti, who had been critically wounded, died later that afternoon at Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital in Iranshahr due to the severity of his injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, after the shooting the military forces left the scene without providing any explanation for the gunfire. Local residents say that these forces entered Chahkichi village without a judicial warrant and outside their jurisdiction. A gathering of citizens who questioned the reason for the shooting ended without receiving any clear response from the military forces.
Based on compiled reports from 2024, actions by military and security forces resulted in the killing and injury of at least 208 Baloch citizens in various areas. Among these cases, 115 people were killed and 93 were injured. Among those killed were 13 children and 4 women, and among the injured were 20 children and 12 women.
