Death of at Least Six Baloch Prisoners and One Detainee in Iranian Prisons and Detention Centers in 2023

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, in 2023, at least six Baloch prisoners in six different cities lost their lives inside prisons due to reasons such as lack of medical attention and suicides, while one person was killed in Zahedan’s 12th Precinct after being detained and reportedly assaulted by military forces.

The recorded cases of Baloch prisoners’ deaths occurred in IranShahr, Kerman, Karaj, Zahedan, Zabol, and Mashhad prisons throughout the year.
