On the morning of Monday, April 14, 2025, the execution of Ali Dehmani, a Baloch conscript from Sib and Suran County, was carried out in Zahedan Central Prison, according to Balochistan Human Rights sources. Dehmani had been arrested following the aftermath of the “Bloody Fridays” in Zahedan and Khash, accused of involvement in the deaths of four police officers during an armed attack on Kaskin outpost in Bampur County.
Despite his repeated denial of the charges in court and his testimony that confessions were obtained under torture, the judiciary issued a death sentence without reviewing his defense, investigating credible allegations of abuse, or considering independent evidence.
According to Rasank sources, Dehmani had served over a year of his mandatory military duty at the same outpost. Following the November 6, 2022 attack, he was arrested and subjected to prolonged and severe physical and psychological torture while in the custody of security forces. Even after being transferred to Ward 9 of Zahedan Central Prison, he was reportedly tortured again by prison officials and held for a time in inhumane conditions in the ward’s basement.
Throughout his detention, Ali Dehmani was repeatedly pressured by officers from the Ministry of Intelligence and the Criminal Investigation Department in Zahedan to confess. In court, he formally rejected the confessions, emphasizing that they were made under duress. Nevertheless, the presiding judge dismissed these statements and upheld the execution order without addressing the serious procedural and human rights violations.
Independent sources close to the case have previously stated that Dehmani had no involvement in the attack and was framed by local police leadership in Bampur as part of a constructed narrative.
The execution of Ali Dehmani underscores ongoing concerns about arbitrary judicial processes, security-driven case fabrication, and the systematic denial of basic human rights in Sistan and Balochistan Province. This case has intensified public outrage among the Baloch community and further eroded trust in the country’s judicial and security institutions.
