January 9th; the birthday of martyr Mohammad Eqbal Nayebzahi, one of the martyrs of the bloody Friday in Zahedan. Mohammad Eqbal Nayebzahi, born on January 9th, 2005, son of Niaz Mohammad, a resident of Zahedan, was among those killed in the atrocity of the bloody Friday in Zahedan by the security and military forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, falling to martyrdom by gunfire.

From his early childhood, Mohammad Eqbal tasted not the sweetness of childhood but the bitterness of poverty, deprivation, and oppression. A childhood where even having an identity card was a luxury. From his early years, when children his age were busy playing, Eqbal’s playmate was the dust and plaster, alongside his elder brother.

Though his childish hands had become rough and hardened like his life, they still carried affection and kindness. Among his friends and relatives, he was known for his amiability and good character. Mohammad Eqbal had learned well to hide his sorrow, shortages, poverty, exhaustion, and all his pains behind his smile, so as not to cause more pain to the hearts of his parents, who struggled to provide bread.

His mother says: ‘On that day, my child left home to attend the Friday prayers. I have no more hope, but I pray to God to bring my son’s murderer to justice.
