According to Balochistan Human Rights Group, On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Maulvi Fazlur Rahman Kohi, a Baloch political-ideological prisoner, went on a hunger strike in protest against the non-approval of his conditional release by the officials of Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad.
During a call to his relatives, besides announcing his hunger strike, Maulavi Kohi said: He will not break his strike until his unconditional release and the lifting of the ban on his religious activities are agreed.
It should be noted that Maulvi Fazlur Rahman Kohi was summoned to the Special Clergy Court of Mashhad and arrested in December 2018 after his outspoken criticism of the government’s harsh treatment of protesters in November 2018, and after several months he was sentenced to six years and four months in prison.
