The prisoner had been arrested in 2023 and sentenced to death following judicial proceedings.<br>The prisoner was identified as Mohammad (Cheragh) Afrookhteh, approximately 30 years old, son of Habib-ur-Rehman. He was married and had one child, and was originally from Baldan village in Sib and Suran County.<br>According to the report, Mohammad was arrested in 2023 along with one of his relatives on charges of murdering a local man affiliated with the security forces in Sib and Suran County. Sources stated:<br>\u201cFollowing his arrest and severe physical and psychological torture, Mohammad was forced to confess to the murder. His death sentence was reportedly issued several months ago. Another individual who had been arrested in connection with the case was later released.\u201d<br>The sources also provided details about the days leading up to the execution, stating that Mohammad was transferred to the prison\u2019s quarantine section on Thursday, August 13, in preparation for the execution, and that his family had their final visit with him on Saturday.<br>His execution was carried out on Sunday, August 16, and his funeral and burial took place later that day at 5:00 p.m. in the cemetery of Baldan village.<br>According to data compiled during 2025, at least 137 executions of Baloch prisoners were recorded in 27 different prisons across Iran.
