According to Bandoui, such discrimination affects the future of many Baloch children from the very beginning of their lives.

She also referred to the severe economic conditions in Sistan and Balochistan Province, describing it as one of the poorest regions in Iran. Due to the lack of employment opportunities, many Baloch men are forced to work as fuel carriers, transporting small amounts of fuel across desert routes in order to support their families.

Bandoui noted that many fuel carriers are shot by border forces, and in many cases there are no investigations or accountability for these incidents.

The human rights advocate also addressed the high number of executions among ethnic minorities in Iran. She stated that despite representing a small portion of the population, Baloch people account for a disproportionately large number of executions, often related to poverty-driven charges such as drug smuggling.

Bandoui further spoke about the pressure placed on Baloch and Kurdish women activists. She said that many women involved in civil society and human rights work are frequently required to report to intelligence or security offices. According to her, this practice is not merely surveillance but a form of psychological pressure intended to intimidate and silence activists.

She stressed that these conditions have deep psychological consequences for families and communities—from children who are denied education to families who lose loved ones without justice.

Despite these pressures, Bandoui emphasized that Baloch and Kurdish women continue to stand strong, supporting their families and advocating for dignity and justice.

She concluded by calling on the international community to ensure accountability and justice. This includes independent investigations into the killings of fuel carriers and civilians, addressing the disproportionate executions of ethnic minorities, and ending intimidation and harassment against women activists.

Bandoui stressed that Baloch and Kurdish women are not asking for charity but for the principles promised by international institutions: human dignity, equality, justice, and accountability.

She ended her speech with these words:

“A daughter should never have to ask why she cannot go to school.
A wife should never have to wait for a husband who will never return.
And a woman should never have to walk into an intelligence office every day simply for daring to raise her voice.”

Sabah Bandoui Speaks at the United Nations: Baloch and Kurdish Women Face Systematic Discrimination in Iran New York — Sabah Bandoui, a member of the Balochistan Human Rights Group, spoke at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York, highlighting the situation of ethnic minority women in Iran and calling …

[19

post-4752","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-human_rights
["GET
