After approximately 12 days of detention in detention centers and prison, they were transferred to the Al-Ghadir camp in Zahedan under the pretext of “verifying identity documents.” At least 9 of them remain in detention, and despite repeated visits by their families, no clear response has been received regarding their situation.

The identities of eight of the citizens transferred to Al-Ghadir camp in Zahedan include:

Habib Rakhshani, 19 years old

Hamid Rakhshani, 21 years old

Omid Rakhshani

Arman Rakhshani, approximately 20 years old

Ahmad Rakhshani, approximately 19 years old
(all sons of Nazir and residents of Zahedan)
as well as

Majid Ghasemi, approximately 23 years old, son of Sattar

Ishaq Qalajei, approximately 23 years old, son of Vazir

Parviz (family name unknown)

According to available information, all of these citizens possessed valid identity documents; some held Iranian birth certificates and national ID cards, while others held “Golden Cards” due to having an Iranian mother. None of them had any history of leaving the country or residing in Afghanistan. Nevertheless, camp authorities have made their release conditional on the payment of sums of money. Additionally, six other citizens were released in stages after several days of detention and beating, and one individual without identification documents was transferred to the camp from the very first days.

These citizens, most of whom were local laborers and street vendors (including roadside sellers in Shirabad), continue to be held in a migrant/foreign nationals camp without being formally charged or given any clear explanation for their arrest. This situation has been accompanied by daily gatherings of mothers and family members in front of the camp, once again highlighting the consequences of the unresolved demands and rights violations faced by Baloch citizens who possess legal identity documents.

According to compiled data, at least 978 individuals were arrested in Balochistan throughout the year 2025. Among these individuals, 394 lacked identity documents or birth certificates. During this period, 19 cases of group arrests were recorded in which more than one person was detained simultaneously, and in 12 instances, the number of detainees in a single operation exceeded five people.

The Balochistan Human Rights Group considers this action a clear example of systemic discrimination, arbitrary detention, and violation of the right to freedom of movement and personal security for Iranian citizens with legal identity, and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of the detained individuals, an end to extortion from families, and an independent investigation into the transfer of citizens with valid identity documents to a foreign nationals camp.

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, in the early morning of Monday, January 13, 2026, plainclothes and military forces raided homes in the Shirabad area of Zahedan and arrested at least 15 Baloch citizens.
