The operation was conducted without presenting any judicial warrant. The presence of around 20 military and municipal vehicles and nearly 70 operational personnel created a highly securitized atmosphere, and despite residents\u2019 objections, the homes were demolished one by one. The demolitions were carried out without regard for the presence of women and children and without giving families sufficient time to remove their belongings, resulting in significant hardship and damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the demolition of part of a wall of one home, a child was injured in the knee and his mother in the shoulder due to falling debris and concrete fragments. Witnesses report that when residents protested, officers responded with violence, threats, and aggressive behavior, and even attempted to detain several locals, but residents resisted and prevented the arrests. The head of municipal enforcement in Zahedan, Ebrahim Tayebi, was present and overseeing the operation, and according to residents, treated the protesting families in an insulting manner. According to locals, demolition crews carried out the operation \u201con top of people,\u201d even though some families had not yet removed their belongings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout 2024, military and governmental bodies\u2014including the Revolutionary Guard, the Housing Foundation, the Natural Resources Office, and municipalities\u2014carried out at least 36 demolitions of Baloch citizens\u2019 homes and Sunni places of worship. The cities of Zahedan and Chabahar each recorded 17 cases, the highest numbers. One case of a home being set on fire in Delgan and one demolition of a Sunni mosque in Bam were also documented.
