The prisoner had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to &#8220;drug-related crimes.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prisoner was identified as Ebrahim Raisi, 45 years old, son of Abdolrahman, married, and father of seven children, from Chah-Nandeh village in Fanuj County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to sources from the Balochistan Human Rights Group, &#8220;Ebrahim Raisi was arrested in 2009 by military forces on charges related to drugs and was executed in Minab Prison after approximately 16 years of imprisonment.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources close to the family stated that judicial authorities had demanded five billion tomans from Raisi\u2019s family to halt the execution, but the family, due to extreme poverty and difficult living conditions, was unable to raise the amount. An acquaintance of the family said, &#8220;The family sold all their possessions and even entrusted part of the money to an intermediary in hopes of stopping the execution, but it ultimately had no effect.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ebrahim Raisi was the father of seven children (two daughters and five sons). His wife, along with one of their daughters, his father-in-law, and two others, died in a car accident in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a close associate, Ebrahim was a memorizer of the entire Quran and had even been suggested to participate in prison Quran competitions in hopes of receiving a reduced sentence, but the Minab prosecutor rejected this request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that in 2024, at least 111 Baloch prisoners were executed in 23 different cities across Iran on various charges.
