Demolition of at Least 13 Homes in Balochistan Over Four Days by Government Forces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between Tuesday, April 8 and Friday, April 11, 2025 a wave of home demolitions targeting Baloch citizens took place across various regions of Sistan and Balochistan Province. These operations\u2014carried out by municipal authorities, military forces, and organizations such as the Housing Foundation\u2014were conducted without prior legal notice, judicial warrants, or opportunities for residents to defend their rights. They represent clear violations of basic human rights, particularly those of the Baloch minority.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this four-day period, at least 13 residential units in the cities of Zahedan, Chabahar, and Zahak were arbitrarily demolished. The demolitions were executed violently, with physical threats, and without offering alternative shelter to the displaced families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Home Demolition in Zahedan \u2013 April 8, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of Tuesday, April 8, municipal agents in Zahedan, accompanied by military forces, demolished the home of a Baloch citizen named Mahmoud Aboli, located on Pahlevani Street (Keshavarz 14), without presenting any legal warrant or prior notice.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family was not given a chance to defend themselves or to move their belongings before the home was razed to the ground. Their possessions were forcibly thrown outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Nighttime Demolition of a Home Under Construction in Chabahar \u2013 April 9, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, municipal forces in Chabahar, assisted by the military, raided the Hoot-Abad area in Ramin village and demolished a home under construction belonging to Mohammad Amin Hoot.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No legal notification had been issued beforehand. The sudden nighttime operation shocked the local community and generated psychological distress among residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Demolition of Eight Homes in Shirabad, Zahedan \u2013 April 10, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the morning of Thursday, April 10, over 10 military and municipal vehicles entered the Emamat Street area of Shirabad, Zahedan, and demolished at least eight homes belonging to Baloch citizens\u2014again without judicial orders or prior warnings.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These homes housed families, including women and children, who had lived there for years and inherited the land through generations. Witnesses described the atmosphere as tense and highly securitized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Demolition and Intimidation of a Female-Headed Household in Chabahar \u2013 April 10, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on April 10, in a separate incident in Chabahar\u2019s Hoot-Abad area, agents from the Housing Foundation\u2014faces covered\u2014entered the home of a Baloch woman living with her two young children.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They threatened her with electric shock devices and pepper spray, forced her out, and demolished her home. Despite heavy debts, she had managed to build the house as a shelter for her family. Neighbors were also threatened, and a nearby wall was destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Demolition of Two Homes in Zahak \u2013 Week of April 6\u201311, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the week, municipal forces in Zahak entered the Gorgij neighborhood and partially demolished two homes belonging to Baloch families.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the homes belonged to a 70-year-old woman named Bozorg Gorgij, who lost access to basic sanitation after the demolition. The second belonged to 16-year-old twins Omid and Saeideh Gorgij, orphaned at a young age and living alone.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite promises from officials, no reconstruction assistance has been provided so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Analysis and Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These incidents, concentrated in a four-day span, resulted in the destruction of at least 13 homes and the displacement of dozens of Baloch citizens.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carried out without legal justification or alternative housing provisions, these actions reflect a broader pattern of discriminatory practices and forced displacement in Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, such demolitions have intensified under initiatives like the so-called \u201cMakran Coastal Development Plan,\u201d which many local observers believe is a cover for demographic engineering and systemic marginalization of Baloch communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
