During this operation, the forces shot him and then deliberately ran him over with a Peugeot Pars car, causing severe injuries, including a fractured right leg. The impact was so severe that a piece of his bone was thrown several meters away and was recovered hours later.

This operation was reportedly part of an investigation into the abduction of a 9-year-old Baloch boy named Sardar Saberi in Chabahar. The Chabahar Criminal Investigation Department identified the main suspect as Bilal Gangouzehi, a resident of Khash, and sent a team led by Colonel Habib Razdar and an officer from Chabahar with the surname Sargazi to the village.

During the operation, Mohammadreza Shahnavazi, who was riding a motorcycle, was mistakenly targeted due to incorrect information from a local informant. After being shot, he was unable to brake properly due to his injuries, and as he slowed down, the officers used their vehicle to knock him off his motorcycle and run him over. Despite his critical injuries, he was taken to the Khash Police Command without a court warrant, where he was subjected to torture to extract a confession.

It was later revealed that Mohammadreza Shahnavazi, known as Bilal due to his darker complexion, was mistakenly targeted. A source reported that Mohammadreza was in Zahedan prison at the time of the child’s abduction on November 18, 2024, and had only recently been granted temporary release before the incident.

After hours of torture, it was proven that Mohammadreza was innocent. He was eventually handed over to the emergency department of Khash Hospital. A staff member at the hospital identified him and informed his family. However, the officers reportedly attempted to frame him by placing a handgun in his file to portray him as an attacker, but his family prevented this.

Currently, Mohammadreza’s condition remains critical due to unlawful actions, torture, and lack of proper medical care. There is an urgent request for judicial authorities in Khash and the Sistan and Baluchestan Province prosecutor to investigate the case and ensure justice for the victim.

This incident highlights the lawlessness and unjustified violence of security forces against Baloch citizens. The lack of adherence to legal procedures, torture of innocent individuals, and failure to provide adequate medical care are clear examples of human rights violations in Balochistan.

On January 4, 2025, officers from the Chabahar Criminal Investigation Department and Khash Police Command raided the village of Kamalabad in the Poshtkuh district of Khash County, mistakenly targeting an innocent citizen named Mohammadreza Shahnavazi (known as Bilal).
