Mukhtar was 22 years old and originally from Zirakabad village in Nikshahr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite medical advancements that can enable a normal life for thalassemia patients, Mukhtar died due to inadequate treatment and the lack of medical facilities in Sistan and Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thalassemia patients in this province die because of blood shortages and insufficient medical care.
