Fariba Baloch, an Iranian human rights activist residing in London, will receive the award for her advocacy on women’s rights and against gender, ethnic, and religious discrimination. Despite threats and harassment from Iranian authorities, she persists in her activism, focusing on defending Baloch and Iranian women’s rights and highlighting the regime’s gender, ethnic, and sectarian discrimination. This award, presented to courageous women worldwide since March 2007, marks the first time a Baloch woman has been among the thirteen recipients selected this year. The award ceremony will be broadcast live via the White House website on Monday March 4th.

For the first time in history, a Baloch woman has been awarded the Bravest Women in the World prize by the US government.
