Arbitrary arrest and detension of Baloch in Zahedan

According to Balochistan Human Rights Group, on September 21st, a Baloch citizen was arrested by the security forces in Zahedan during a nationwide protest.

The identity of this Baloch citizen “Shahab Shoaibi” (Sarani), about 27 years old, the son of Mahuddin from Zahedan, has been detained.

It is said that despite the repeated follow-ups of this citizen’s family, no correct and accurate answer has been provided by the security agencies, and the only thing the family knows about his situation is that they accused him of being a leader in the protests. Still 40 days after his arrest no charges has been made.

According to witness Shahab has bee tortured in the detention center and his case has been referred to the court.

Not allowing the accused to make contact with his family, as well as the lack of accountability and clarification of the security institutions about the detainees, has caused the families of these people to have grave concerns for their children.

Court Hearing for one of the girls arrested in Zahedan

The first court hearing for 24-years-old Faizeh Brahoui was held in Zahedan.

Charges against her are presented by the security institutions are “leading riots” . during the hearing it was announced that the verdict will be presented in about 20 days.

Faizeh was not given an independent lawyer and held incommunicado making this hearing judiciary misconduct.

Faizeh is a student of Zahedan Azad University was arrested on the 11 of October by uniformed officers from Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC.

The IRGC have since her arrest intimidated her mother end explicitly that there would be reproductions’ if she spoke publicly about her daughter´s case.

A Baloch woman arrested by intelligence services in Zahedan

According to Rasank media, on Monday, 3rd October 2022, a 24-year old Baloch woman was arrested by the uniformed officials of intelligence services in the city of Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchistan on unknown charges.

The young woman has been identified as “Faizeh Brahui”, from Zahedan city.

Faizeh had not participated in any of the protests but as per independent media sources, she has been arrested because she had asked for further investigation into the alleged rape of the 15-year-old Baloch girl by the police chief in the southern city of Chabahar.

It has been three weeks since her arrest. Her family states that the police has so far not made any formal charges against her. They have not been able to obtain any further information regarding her case.

It should be noted that the security forces, contrary to the law, have denied Faizeh visitation rights and she has also been denied legal representation or access to a lawyer.
