Arrest of a Baloch Man Following a Raid by Plainclothes Intelligence Agents on His Home in Konarak

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 (6 Aban 1405), plainclothes agents of the Intelligence Department raided the home of a Baloch man in Konarak County, arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant, and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

The identity of the arrested man has been confirmed as Shabir Rigi Jarizehi, 25, son of Bashir, married and father of two children, residing in Konarak County.

According to sources, plainclothes Intelligence Department agents, accompanied by a surveillance drone, first surrounded his home before entering without presenting a judicial warrant. They then arrested Shabir and took him away.

Sources added that the intelligence agents provided no explanation regarding the official charges against him. They only verbally informed his family that a private complaint had been filed against him. However, no evidenc

In Iran, at least 10 Baloch political prisoners are reportedly at risk of execution. Reports have raised serious concerns about alleged torture, forced confessions, limited access to legal counsel, and violations of the right to a fair trial. For their families, every day brings the fear of receiving devastating news.

Unconfirmed reports have suggested that Edham Naroui may have been released; however, this information remains unverified. It has also been reported that Nasimeh Eslamzehi, a Baloch woman prisoner and mother of two children, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, raising further concerns about her future and the well-being of her children.

Baloch political prisoners face not only the threat of execution but also allegations of torture, discrimination, and the denial of fundamental rights. The right to life, the right to a fair trial, and the prohibition of torture are fundamental rights that must be respected for everyone, regardless of ethnicity or beliefs.

On the International Day of Political Prisoners, the voices of Baloch prisoners and their worried families must not be silenced. Urgent attention and independent human rights monitoring are essential to protect prisoners at risk of execution, establish the truth about their cases, and end violations of their fundamental rights.

Death Sentence Issued Against a Baloch Man Following Confessions Obtained Under Torture at Zahedan Central Prison

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, a Baloch man arrested in the city of Iranshahr was sentenced to death on charges of “membership in anti-Islamic Republic groups”. According to sources, the confessions used as the basis for the sentence were obtained under severe physical and psychological torture. Following the issuance of the death sentence, he is now at risk of execution.

The identity of the prisoner has been established by Rasank as Amin Pardal, 23, son of Rasoul-Bakhsh, from Aliabad village in Iranshahr County.

According to sources cited by BHRG, the case dates back to 4 April 2026, when Pardal was at a relative’s home in Aliabad village. Following complaints from members of a nearby Basij base about loud music, several Basij forces went to the house to speak with those present. Pardal left the house to talk to them, but subsequently disappeared. For approximately one week, his family had no information about his whereabouts or fate.

Sources say that, following repeated inquiries, the family learned that he had been arrested by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on charges of membership in anti-Islamic Republic groups and transferred to Zahedan.

Sources further report that, after nearly two months without information, the family was finally allowed to visit him. During the visit, they observed bruises and visible signs of torture on his body. According to the sources, Pardal was subjected to severe physical and psychological pressure during detention to force him to accept accusations including membership in anti-Islamic Republic groups and involvement in the killing of Mahmoud Haghighat, commander of the Shahre-Daraz police station in Iranshahr.

The commander had been targeted in an attack carried out by members of the People’s Combatants Front (Jebhe-ye Mobarezin-e Mardomi).

According to sources, Pardal’s family reject the accusations against him and insist that he was at his place of residence at the time of the incident in question and was working as a tailor. To support his account, they have collected written testimonies from religious scholars, tribal elders and local community representatives. His relatives also describe him as a peaceful and hardworking young man who earned his living through tailoring before his arrest. His family faces serious financial difficulties, and his father works as a labourer.

The death sentence has been issued amid reports that the confessions attributed to this Baloch prisoner were obtained under torture, while his family firmly rejects the charges against him. These allegations, together with the imminent risk of execution, have raised serious concerns about the observance of due process and the rights and safety of this Baloch prisoner.

13th Anniversary of the Execution of 16 Baloch Prisoners, Including Two Children, at Zahedan Central Prison, On 26 October 2026, the 13th anniversary of the execution of 16 Baloch prisoners at Zahedan Central Prison was commemorated. The prisoners were executed on 26 October 2013, one day after an armed attack on a border post in the Saravan region. Eight of those executed had been convicted in political cases, while the other eight were sentenced in drug-related cases. Two of the political prisoners had been children at the time of their arrest.The executions took place after the armed attack, and the then Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Zahedan described them as an act of “retaliation”. The executions were met with condemnation from human rights organisations and international activists.Thirteen years later, this incident remains a deeply concerning example of collective punishment and the use of capital punishment in retaliation for an armed attack.

The case underscores the importance of protecting the right to life, ensuring judicial independence, upholding fair trial standards and prohibiting the punishment of individuals for the actions of others.

At Least 11 Baloch Prisoners Executed in Prisons Across Iran, During October 2026.Those executed included prisoners convicted in political and security-related cases, as well as individuals convicted in other cases. The executions, alongside concerns regarding judicial proceedings, access to legal representation and the right to a fair trial, have once again highlighted the human rights concerns surrounding Baloch prisoners sentenced to death.

• Extrajudicial Killings / Direct Shootings

During October 2026, at least four Baloch citizens lost their lives in two shooting incidents by security forces in Zahedan and two fuel-carrying vehicle incidents along the Kahnuj and Iranshahr routes.

The victims were identified as Mohammad Rigi (Sanjarani), 22; Aziz Rigi, 23, also kno; Hassan (Musa) Makhsai, a father of four; and Erfan Zabardast, 25.

According to the reports received, direct gunfire at vehicles, including fuel-carrying vehicles, led to vehicles overturning and the deaths of their occupants. In the Zahedan incident, local sources reported that security forces opened fire on two individuals after they had indicated their surrender. These incidents have intensified concerns over the use of lethal force and the need for independent investigations and accountability.

• At Least Nine Baloch Citizens Arrested During Security Raids Across Balochistan

During October 2026, at least nine Baloch citizens were arrested in three separate incidents in Bampur, Konarak, Zabol and Zahedan by military and security forces. During a raid by military and security forces on a Baloch family’s home in Bampur County, six male members of the family were arrested, those arrested were identified as Jom’e Narouei, 76; Abolhassan Narouei, 43; Nazarmohammad Narouei, 41; Rostam Narouei, 36; Zobair Narouei, 31; Ali Narouei, 26; Shabir Rigi Jarizehi, 25; Mobin Shahlibar, approximately 21, a physics student at the University of Zabol; and Yasin Shahbakhsh, approximately 30.

In the reported incidents, security forces carried out arrests without presenting judicial warrants and transferred some individuals to undisclosed locations. The continued lack of information provided to families regarding the whereabouts and conditions of those detained has heightened concerns about potential human rights violations and the risk of ill-treatment in detention.

• Baloch Citizen Remains Imprisoned in Oman for Eight Years Despite Completing His Sentence

Murad Mohammad Qanbarzehi, a 60-year-old Baloch citizen from Nookabad, Bazpiran region, in Iranshahr County, remains imprisoned in Oman despite completing his original three-year sentence.he has reportedly spent approximately eight years in an Omani prison. The absence of identity documents and the failure of Iranian authorities to issue the necessary documentation have prevented his release and return to Iran.his family has repeatedly sought to obtain identity documents for him over the past several years, but these efforts have so far been unsuccessful.his continued imprisonment, five years beyond his original sentence, highlights the serious consequences of lacking identity documents and the difficulties faced by individuals whose nationality and identity have not been officially recognised.

Execution of at Least Two Baloch Prisoners in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad, Iran

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), the death sentence of Habibollah Davoudi, a 26-year-old Baloch prisoner previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, Iran, at dawn on Tuesday, 5 Aban 1405 (27 October 2026). The execution was carried out without prior notification to his family, depriving him of a final visit with his loved ones.

The prisoner was identified as Habibollah Davoudi, son of Aziz, a married 26-year-old man and father of four young children. He was originally from Zahedan and resided in Mashhad.

According to the report, Davoudi was arrested in Mashhad in 2023 and subsequently sentenced to death by the city’s Revolutionary Court. He was transferred to solitary confinement on Monday, 4 Aban (26 October 2026), and executed at dawn the following day.

Baloch Fuel Carrier Killed Following Gunfire by Law Enforcement Forces in Kahnuj

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), on Tuesday, 5 Aban 1405 (27 October 2026), Erfan Zabardast, a 25-year-old Baloch fuel carrier, lost his life after law enforcement forces opened direct fire on his vehicle on a road in Kahnuj County, causing it to overturn. At the time of the incident, he was transporting petrol. According to information received, officers fired at his vehicle without prior warning.

The identity of the Baloch citizen has been confirmed as Erfan Zabardast, 25, son of Eshaq. He was married and originally from and residing in Kahnuj.

According to information received, the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday on the outer road of Kahnuj. Gunfire by officers struck a tyre, causing it to burst and the vehicle to leave the road and overturn violently. Erfan died as a result of the incident. As his body is being kept in cold storage, his exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding it remain in need of further investigation.

A relative of Erfan described the difficult circumstances of his life, stating that he had lost his father during childhood and had been responsible for supporting his elderly mother and family. According to this relative, Erfan was preparing to establish a family of his own despite financial hardship. By transporting small quantities of petrol, he was trying to cover his family’s daily living expenses.

It should be noted that during 2025, at least 173 Baloch fuel carriers were killed and 132 injured. Of these, 131 died and 80 were injured in road accidents. A further 37 were killed and 44 injured in incidents involving military personnel, including shootings, landmine explosions, pursuits and physical assaults. Two people drowned in incidents related to fuel-carrying activities.

In addition, fires resulted in one death and seven injuries, while shootings by unidentified armed individuals killed two people and injured one. During the same year, at least 211 fuel carriers were arrested.

13th Anniversary of the Retaliatory Execution of 16 Baloch Prisoners, Including Two Children, in Zahedan Central Prison

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), today, Monday, 26 October 2026, marks the 13th anniversary of the execution of 16 Baloch prisoners in Zahedan Central Prison. The executions took place in the early hours of 26 October 2013, one day after an armed attack on a border post in the Saravan region. Iranian judicial authorities described the executions as a retaliatory measure. Among those executed were eight prisoners facing political charges, including two who had been children at the time of their arrest, and eight prisoners convicted in drug-related cases. Reports indicate that the bodies were secretly buried in a cemetery outside the city without transparent notification to their families.

The eight executed political prisoners were identified as Mehrullah Rigi Mahernia, 22, who had been arrested at the age of 17; Abdolwahab Rigi, 23, arrested at the age of 18; Habibollah Riginjad Shuraki; Nazer Mollazahi, 23; Hamed Vekalat, 28; Salman Miaei (Jedgal), 25; Ayoub Bahramzehi; and Saeed Narouei.

The eight other prisoners executed in drug-related cases were identified as Azam Gorgij, son of Gomsad; Davoud Mirblochzehi, son of Abdolrashid; Hassan Rezaei, son of Mirza; Habib Totazahi, son of Mohammadakbar; Naser Shahbakhsh, son of Mohammadhasan; Ahmad Dehmordeh, son of Khodarahm; Hassan Brahouei, son of Feyz Mohammad; and Najibollah Bahadori, son of Amir.

The executions followed an armed attack on a border post in the Saravan region on the evening of Friday, 25 October 2013, which killed at least 14 border guards and injured seven others. Mohammad Marzieh, the then Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Zahedan, described the execution of the 16 prisoners as an act of “retaliation.” Judicial authorities at the time stated that the sentences had previously been postponed in what they called an act of “Islamic clemency,” but were carried out following the attack. These prisoners had been arrested before the attack, and their cases had no direct connection to the armed operation.

The mass executions provoked strong condemnation from human rights organisations and activists. Ahmed Shaheed, the then United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, considered the executions a form of retaliation in a conflict and contrary to international human rights law. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, Sarah Leah Whitson, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other human rights organisations also condemned the executions, objecting to the use of the death penalty as retaliation and the failure to uphold fair trial standards.

Thirteen years later, the execution of these 16 prisoners remains a deeply controversial example of collective punishment and the use of the death penalty in response to an armed attack in Balochistan. The incident serves as a reminder of the fundamental importance of the right to life, judicial independence, fair trials and the prohibition of punishing individuals for the actions of others.

The prisoner was identified as Abdullah Narouei, approximately 43 years old, son of Adam Khan. He was married, had five children, was originally from Zahedan and lived in Mashhad.

According to sources, Abdullah was arrested on 3 November 2023, during a nighttime raid by military and security forces on his home in the Sakhteman area of Mashhad. Officers reportedly forcibly entered the property, arrested him and transferred him to Vakilabad Prison. In December 2025, the Mashhad Revolutionary Court sentenced him to death. On Monday, 19 October 2026, he was transferred to the prison’s quarantine unit.

The Baloch prisoner was executed at dawn the following day, Tuesday, 20 October, without being granted a final visit with his family. His five children have now been deprived of their father’s presence.

According to data compiled throughout 2025, at least 137 executions of Baloch prisoners were recorded across 27 prisons in Iran. Zahedan Prison recorded the highest number, with 34 executions.

Of those executed, 94 individuals (approximately 68.6%) were sentenced to death on drug-related charges, 36 (approximately 26.3%) on murder charges, four (approximately 2.9%) on political or ideological charges, two (approximately 1.5%) on rape charges, and one (approximately 0.7%) on an unspecified charge.

Execution of at Least One Baloch Prisoner in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), at least one Baloch prisoner was executed at dawn on Tuesday, 28 Mehr 1405 (20 October 2026), in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. The prisoner had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

The prisoner was identified as Isa Narouei (Lakzehi), 30, son of Osman. He was single, originally from Zahedan, and residing in Mashhad.

According to the report, Isa Narouei was arrested in 2025 after military and security forces raided his home in Mashhad. He was subsequently transferred to Vakilabad Prison and sentenced to death by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court. On Monday, 19 October, he was transferred to the prison’s quarantine unit.

According to data collected by BHRG, at least 137 Baloch prisoners were executed in 27 prisons across Iran in 2025. Zahedan Prison recorded the highest number, with 34 executions.

Execution of a Baloch Prisoner in Gorgan Prison
​According to a report by the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at dawn today, Wednesday, October 14, 2026 (22 Mehr 1405), the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner was carried out in Gorgan Prison. He had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
​The prisoner has been identified as Habib Rakhmeshah (Notizehi), 52 years old, son of Nasruddin, married, father of five children, and a resident of Oraz Gol Fandaresk village in the suburbs of Gorgan.
​According to the report, Habib was arrested in 2020 (1399) in Kordkuy County on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Gorgan Revolutionary Court. On Tuesday, October 13 (21 Mehr), he was transferred to quarantine in preparation for his execution, and his family was asked to visit the prison for their final meeting.
