According Balochistan Human Rights Group (BHRG), on the evening of Wednesday, 3 September 2025 (12 Shahrivar 1404), a Baloch citizen in the village of Jangarak, Chabahar County, was attacked by unidentified armed assailants. He was abducted and subsequently killed by gunfire.

The attackers first ran him over with a vehicle, then transferred him to another location, where he was severely beaten before being shot dead. His body was later abandoned near the village.

The victim has been identified as Eman Jangariki, son of Emam Bakhsh, a resident of Jangarak village, Chabahar County.

According to the information obtained, after running him over, the assailants inflicted multiple severe injuries, including fractures to his legs, before fatally shooting him.

At the time of reporting, the perpetrators of this crime remain unidentified. Unconfirmed accounts have suggested the possibility of a family-related dispute, but no official confirmation has been made.

It is important to note that patterns of such violence have been widely documented. According to collected reports, in 2024 alone at least 469 Baloch citizens were attacked by unidentified armed groups. Among them, 284 were killed and 185 injured, including 47 children and women. Of these, 17 children were killed, 14 injured, while 9 women were killed and 7 others injured.

This incident highlights the ongoing pattern of targeted violence and insecurity faced by the Baloch population, and underscores the urgent need for transparent investigations, accountability for perpetrators, and protection of vulnerable communities.

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, Sabah Bandoui, a representative of the organization, raised alarm over the systematic violations of cultural, linguistic, and religious rights of the Baloch people in Iran during a session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. This speech, shared as a video on the group’s social media channels, highlighted the systemic oppression faced by the Baloch as one of Iran’s ethnic and cultural minorities.

In her speech, Bandoui stated: “The right to freely practice and express one’s culture, language, and religion is a fundamental human right. Yet, for the indigenous Baloch people in Iran, this basic right is systematically denied. Ongoing repression not only threatens the cultural identity of the Baloch but also limits their participation in society.”

She pointed to oppressive policies such as extrajudicial killings, torture, arbitrary arrests, and the denial of identity documents to hundreds of thousands of Baloch, describing these acts as clear violations of human rights.

Bandoui stressed that Baloch children are deprived of the right to learn their mother tongue and are even punished for speaking it in schools. She described these actions as a serious attack on the dignity, identity, and cultural heritage of the Baloch community.

She also referred to a recent report by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), which urged Iran to take effective measures to address discrimination against ethnic minorities, including greater access to education in their native languages and protection of their cultural rights.

In concluding her speech, Bandoui called for the Iranian government to immediately implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Minorities and urged member states to hold Iran accountable during the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in January 2025.

The speech concluded with the slogan, “Woman, Life, Freedom.”

On the morning of October 29, 2024, two young Baloch fuel carriers were severely injured following a landmine explosion reportedly planted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) along the Rotak border in Mirjaveh County. Following the explosion, these individuals were allegedly beaten by border security forces, and their vehicle was set on fire by the military personnel.

The two injured fuel carriers have been identified as Shahram Shahnavazi, approximately 17 years old, son of Behnam, and Ali Shahnavazi, around 16 years old, son of Din Mohammad. Both are residents of Gosht in Saravan County.

It is reported that around 10 a.m. on October 29, these two young fuel carriers, along with several other fuel-carrying vehicles, were traveling along the border area. Near the zero-point border, they encountered a landmine explosion that injured Shahram’s hand and Ali’s neck. Following the explosion, border patrol forces from Mirjaveh County’s 122nd checkpoint arrived, reportedly beat the two young men, and set their vehicle on fire. According to an annual report compiled on fuel carriers’ incidents, from the beginning of 2023 to the end of the year, at least 321 fuel carriers have been killed or injured in various incidents. In direct shootings by military forces, 28 fuel carriers lost their lives, and 17 were injured. In road accidents, 194 individuals died, and 58 were injured. Furthermore, in shootings by unidentified armed individuals, 8 fuel carriers were killed, and 2 were injured. Other incidents, including floods, fuel storage fires, and an unspecified incident, have resulted in at least 14 additional casualties.
