The killing of a Baloch fuel porter following military forces’ shooting at his vehicle in Rudbar-e Jonub
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, military forces in the area of the Provincial Police Road and the Seh-Chah Road in Rudbar-e Jonub County opened fire on a fuel porter’s vehicle. As a result, the driver was shot in the head and died from the severity of his injuries.
The identity of the Baloch citizen has been reported as Amirali Namdadi, 21, son of Hossein and a resident of Rudbar-e Jonub.
According to sources, the shooting occurred at around 7 a.m. Amirali was driving a fuel-transport vehicle in the area of the Provincial Police Road and Seh-Chah Road when military forces opened fire on him without prior warning. During the shooting, a bullet struck him in the head, and the severity of his injuries resulted in his death.
Military forces’ shootings at Baloch fuel porters in the Rudbar-Zamin region and other parts of Balochistan have repeatedly resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians. In various cases, these incidents have raised concerns over the disproportionate use of firearms and the endangerment of civilians’ lives.
It should be noted that throughout 2025, at least 173 fuel porters were killed and 132 injured. Of these, 131 people were killed and 80 injured in road accidents. In incidents involving military actions—including shootings, landmine explosions, pursuits, and beatings—37 people were killed and 44 injured. Two people drowned in connection with fuel-portering activities. In addition, fires resulted in one death and seven injuries, while shootings by unidentified armed individuals killed two people and injured one. During the same year, at least 211 fuel porters were arrested.
