Killing of a Baloch Citizen in a Security Forces Raid and Shooting in Zahedan County

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the evening of February 15, 2026, a Baloch citizen who had been wanted by intelligence agencies for years due to a security case was killed by security and plainclothes military forces during a raid in the Chah-Ahmad area, part of Kourin district in Zahedan County.

The identity of this Baloch citizen has been reported as Darmohammad Hassanzehi, approximately 45 years old, known as “Dora”, son of Abdullah, married and father of children, resident of the Chah-Ahmad area in Zahedan.

According to the report, this individual, who had been living in hiding for years, was directly targeted and shot dead by plainclothes military forces during a raid at his location in the Chah-Ahmad area of Kourin district. Dozens of military personnel participated in this operation using at least seven vehicles with civilian license plates.

It is noteworthy that this citizen had been wanted by security agencies for years following the opening of a security case by the Kerman Intelligence Administration and had been moving secretly in surrounding areas.

According to the 2025 Annual Report of the Balochistan Human Rights Group, direct shootings, home raids, mine explosions, and assaults on citizens by military and security forces affected at least 173 people in Balochistan. Of this number, 107 lost their lives and 66 were injured. Among the killed were 3 women and 1 child, and among the injured were 16 women and 4 children.
