Dozens of Baloch Residents’ Homes Demolished in Nasi Village, Zahedan, During Armed Raid by IRGC-Affiliated Forces

In the early hours of Monday, December 29, 2025, dozens of residential and under-construction housing units belonging to Baloch citizens in Nasi village, located in the Khajeh-Mask area of Zahedan County, were demolished during a large-scale raid by armed local forces affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The raid was accompanied by gunfire, intimidation, physical assaults on residents, and the torching of several homes.

According to information received from local sources, armed local forces reportedly operating under the command of Mohammad Shahouzehi, a locally based IRGC-affiliated operative, entered the village in the early morning hours using standard-issue military weapons and IRGC equipment. Residents were forcibly expelled from their homes through threats, gunfire, and acts of violence. Eyewitnesses reported targeted destruction of buildings, aerial gunfire, and violent treatment of civilians.

Sources indicate that the demolished lands and houses had clear and documented ownership, with official land-allocation deeds issued in the names of local residents. A significant portion of the affected properties is reportedly registered under the name of Abdolghani Shahbakhsh, and residents possess formal legal documents confirming lawful ownership and allocation.

Local sources emphasize that this incident is part of a long-standing pattern of home demolitions, land confiscations, and forced dispossession targeting Baloch residents in the marginalized outskirts of Zahedan. These actions are reportedly carried out with the involvement of municipal authorities, the Natural Resources Organization, and other state-affiliated bodies, after which confiscated lands are transferred to non-local and non-Baloch individuals.

Human rights activists have warned that in recent years the IRGC has increasingly relied on locally recruited Baloch forces—often under conditions of economic deprivation and, in some cases, coercion or intimidation—to carry out field operations, home raids, and acts of repression against the Baloch population. This practice not only constitutes a serious violation of fundamental human rights but also deepens social fractures within the Baloch community and allows central authorities to evade direct accountability for human rights abuses.

Mohammad Shahouzehi is considered a long-standing figure within the province’s security and intelligence apparatus and is reported to maintain a base in the Karimabad area of Zahedan. According to local sources, forces under his command have played an active role in suppressing protests, conducting ground raids, and exerting systematic pressure on Baloch civilians following the widespread demonstrations in Zahedan, particularly after the event widely referred to as “Bloody Friday Zahedan.”

Human rights organizations have described these actions as clear violations of international human rights standards, including the right to property, the right to personal security, and the right to adequate housing. They have called for an immediate halt to demolitions, accountability for those responsible, and the initiation of independent and impartial investigations into the incident.
