Participation of Balochistan Human Rights Group and Barmash Organization in Hamburg Human Rights Conference

Hamburg, Germany – Saturday, November 22, 2025

A human rights conference was held today, Saturday, November 22, 2025 (1 Azar 1404), in Hamburg, Germany, organized by the Ahwazi Organization for the Defence of Human Rights and attended by several human rights organizations. The main topics of the conference were:

  • The November 2019 (Aban 1398) massacre in the Nizar Ma’shour district of Ahvaz
  • Systematic violations of human rights against non-Persian nations in Iran

The conference addressed a wide range of issues, including:

  • The death penalty and executions
  • Enforced disappearances
  • Violations of the rights of national and ethnic communities
  • Peaceful coexistence
  • Women’s rights
  • Prevention of child marriage and child spouses
  • Mutual respect among religious and political groups

A central part of the program focused on the Ma’shour marshland massacre of unarmed Arab civilians in November 2019. Prominent journalist and writer *Yousef Azizi Bani-Torof, a member of the Iranian Writers’ Association and head of the Center to Combat Racism in Iran, delivered an in-depth analysis of the atrocity. A documentary film by *Hakem Dalfi, an eyewitness to the massacre of Ahvazi Arab civilians, was also screened, revealing shocking details of the deadly crackdown carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the conference:

  • Amnesty International ran a signature campaign calling for the commutation of the death sentence issued against labor activist Sharifeh Mohammadi.
  • Representatives of various organizations gave speeches, particularly highlighting the systematic human rights violations in the Ahvaz region and other national territories in Iran.

Notably, representatives from the Balochistan Human Rights Group and the Barmash Organization were present at the conference and actively participated in different segments of the program.
