Execution of a Baloch Prisoner Without Family Notification in Birjand Prison

At dawn on Monday, November 10, 2025, the death sentence of Abdolkarim Sasouli, a 60-year-old Baloch man, married and father of seven, was carried out in Birjand Prison without notifying his family and without allowing a final visit.

Abdolkarim Sasouli was arrested about three years ago in Birjand County on charges related to drug offenses and was later sentenced to death by the Birjand Revolutionary Court.

In 2024, at least 111 Baloch prisoners were executed across 23 cities in Iran on various charges — 83 for drug-related offenses, 25 for murder, and the charges for 3 others remain unknown.
