Execution of a Baloch Prisoner in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the morning of Sunday, 13 Mehr 1404 (October 5, 2025), the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner, previously convicted by the Shiraz Revolutionary Court on charges related to drug offenses, was carried out in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
The identity of the Baloch prisoner is reported as Jahanshakh Rakhshani (Baloch), 51 years old, married, and a father, from the village of Chahki in the southern Rudbar region.
According to sources from the Balochistan Human Rights Group, Jahanshakh Rakhshani was arrested a few years ago near Shiraz by military forces on charges related to drug offenses and was sentenced to death by the Shiraz Revolutionary Court after legal proceedings. The prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement in the prison the day before to carry out the sentence.
It should be noted that in 2024, at least 111 Baloch prisoners were executed in 23 different cities across Iran on various charges. Of these, 83 were executed on charges related to “drug offenses,” 25 on charges of “murder,” and the charges for 3 cases remain unspecified.
