Death of Baloch Citizen Identified Following Military Shooting and Vehicle Explosion on Kahnooj’s Puzah Road, Iran

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the evening of Saturday, October 4, 2025, military forces from the Kahnooj battalion and special unit opened fire without prior warning on a Pars vehicle on Puzah Road, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and the death of its occupant in the blaze.

The Balochistan Human Rights Group has identified the deceased Baloch citizen as Arshad Faramarzi, a resident of Anbarabad in the Rudbarzamin region.

Sources from the Balochistan Human Rights Group report that the incident occurred without any attempt by the military forces to provide assistance or contact emergency services. The forces fled the scene immediately after the shooting and the vehicle explosion, which was caused by a bullet striking the fuel tank.

Sources further noted that the targeted vehicle was not carrying any smuggled goods, and its sole occupant was the driver. This shooting and explosion highlight the severe actions of military forces without assessing the situation or considering civilian lives, further raising concerns about the conduct of armed forces in various parts of Balochistan.

Based on reports compiled in 2024, actions by military and security forces have resulted in the death or injury of at least 208 Baloch citizens across different areas. Of these, 115 individuals lost their lives, and 93 were injured. Among the deceased are 13 children and 4 women, while the injured include 20 children and 12 women.
