According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at dawn on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the death sentence of at least one Baloch prisoner, previously convicted on drug-related charges and transferred to quarantine in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj the previous day for execution, was carried out.
The identity of the Baloch prisoner has been confirmed by Rasanak as Alim Barahui, 67 years old, son of Noorollah, married, with children, and a resident of Zahedan.
Alim Barahui was arrested by military forces in 2019 and sentenced to death by the Karaj Revolutionary Court. Prison authorities transferred him from the general ward to quarantine (solitary confinement), and his family is currently traveling to Karaj for a final visit.
