Death of a Baloch Prisoner Sentenced to Execution Due to Neglect by Iranshahr Prison Officials Regarding Medical Condition  

According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group Yesterday,May 17, 2025 a Baloch prisoner sentenced to death lost his life at Khatam-al-Anbia Hospital in Iranshahr due to the prison authorities’ negligence toward his critical health condition and delays in transferring him to a medical facility.  

The prisoner has been identified as Aziz Kobadani, a 54-year-old married man and father of six, including one child with physical disabilities. He was a resident of Zahedan.  

According to the report, he was arrested three years ago in Iranshahr County on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. Since then, he had been held in Iranshahr Prison.  

It is reported that Aziz Kobadani was transferred from Ward 2 of the prison to Khatam-al-Anbia Hospital on May 9, 2025 due to a severe kidney infection and acute renal failure, where he was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit. Despite his critical condition, the lack of effective medical attention in the early stages of his illness and delays in transferring him to a specialized hospital resulted in unsuccessful treatment, ultimately leading to his death.
